How has this outdated music technology come back into the mainstream?
Vinyl records are a type of sound storing medium and are analogue. The first ever vinyl record was released in 1948. They were extremely popular throughout the years, peaking around the 1970s. Bands and singers in the 1980s however still released much of their music in record form as well as other forms (such as cassette tapes).
As more modern forms of music technology were released, vinyl record sales gradually declined. However, they have come back into fashion, and sales are on the rise! I'm sure most of you would agree there is something nostalgic and charming about listening to a vinyl record.

Of course, vinyl records can easily be bought online at hundreds of different mainstream and independent stores. However, I highly recommend visiting a vintage/vinyl store in person as the experience of physically searching through and discovering different albums is much more fun than just scrolling online!
